LUBS Welcome Party

Time is upon us to start thinking about our Welcome Party for Fresher’s 2010! Last year was an amazing success, with Vodka Revs hosting us from early evening as our ‘pre-bar’. Everyone got to enjoy themselves, and tensions were dropped in the social atmosphere. (I guess the £2000+ bar tab helped to some extent!)

We then moved on to a night called the Vodka Project at Oceana, with Queue jump entry, which worked nicely.

We are planning on doing things a little differently this year, but the general framework of the night will be staying the same due last year being such a huge success. The date is set for Wednesday the 29th of September, starting around 8:30pm at Vodka Revs (Millennium Square). Upon entry you will be given a wristband which entitles you to spend money from our bar tab – entry will be by prepaid tickets, available all throughout Fresher’s up until the night. Tickets are priced at £6, which includes entry toVodka Revs, Bar Tab wristband and Club Queue Jump Entrance ticket. Keep an eye on this page and the Facebook group for details of when they’re on sale!

LUBS Amsterdam Weekender!

Ok, so details are still to be confirmed, however we are booked onto our 2010-2011 LUBS Society Holiday through our Holiday company Outgoing Student Travel.

Amsterdam Bridge

A view of the River that runs through Amsterdam

We will be travelling via coach overnight to the city of culture known as Amsterdam – a popular student holiday destination. The long weekend should be enough to allow us all to chill out a little after January exams and to soak up a little culture.

The dates are Thursday 3rd February – Sunday 6th February, and bookings are opening soon! Outgoing have an online payment system which allows small installments to be paid off in stages. (The final payments can be after your January loan payment, so don’t worry!)

Last year the trip was amazing, everyone on it had a great time, and there were plenty of new friendships made because of it. The holiday costs £119, and is completely worth it. There are additional extras that can be added, such as holiday tee’s and hoodies, which cost a little on top of that.

I’ll be in touch when we know more.

Aaron
